Building BLOCS serves children with autism and other language, behavior, and learning needs in the greater Austin area. Challenging behaviors often arise because children lack the ability to communicate. At Building BLOCS, the behavior therapist and language therapist collaborate on goals and methods, realizing that each of these areas is dependent on and contributes to the other. They use the Early Start Denver Model as an assessment tool and to deliver therapy in a play-based, naturalistic setting.
Our purpose is to help children learn the communication, behavioral, and social skills necessary to reach their full potential. As an interdisciplinary team, we will meet the individual needs of each child and his family in a supportive and nurturing environment. We believe that a child’s language, behavior, social cognition, and sensory needs work in concert, and by integrating our therapies and approaches, we can make the greatest impact.
At Building BLOCS we are deeply committed to embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our organization. Our mission to provide compassionate therapy services for young children is grounded in the understanding that every individual deserves respect, support, and opportunities to thrive. We recognize that achieving true diversity and inclusion requires continuous effort and an iterative process of growth and improvement.
We believe that embracing diversity and creating an inclusive environment is fundamental to our success in making a positive impact on the lives of our clients and their families. We pledge to uphold these principles and ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion remain at the core of everything we do.
