Katie is a native Austinite who earned her bachelor’s degree in special education from
Texas State University in San Marcos and her master’s in special education with a
concentration in autism and developmental disabilities from The University of Texas at
Austin. A certified teacher, Katie taught for nine years in public school special
education, early childhood, and inclusion classrooms before transitioning to her role as
a behavior therapist.
Katie is currently working toward her BCBA certification. Her professional interests
include: challenging behaviors, trauma-informed practice, and functional communication
training.
Most of Katie’s free time is spent chasing a toddler around town with her husband and
two dogs.
